2015-12-01 Wetlands Coordinating Comittee

1440. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the minister representing the Minister for Environment:

I refer to the ministerial statement of 19 November 2015 by the Minister for Environment.

(1) Did the minister seek the advice of the Wetlands Coordinating Committee before revoking these three important environmental protection policies?

(2) If yes to (1), what advice did the minister receive?

(3) If no to (1), why did the minister not seek the advice of this ministerial advisory committee before making such a major decision?

(4) How many times a year has the Wetlands Coordinating Committee met in the period 2009–15?

(5) Will the minister table a copy of the advice that he received from the Environmental Protection Authority on the revocation of these three environmental protection policies?

Hon HELEN MORTON replied:

I thank the member for some notice of the question.
