As outlined in the Equal Opportunity Commission's Western Australia - Guidelines for supporting sexual and gender diversity in schools, "it is a fundamental right of every child and young person to feel safe in their school environment."

Lynn believes that it is important that initiative such as World Suicide Prevention Day and programs such as the Safe Schools Coalition - which is "dedicated to helping schools be safer and more inclusive for same-sex attracted, intersex and gender diverse students, school staff and families." 

Lynn welcomes the introduction of the Safe School Program into WA and encourages many schools to sign up to the initiative, which has been endorsed by the Commonwealth Government.
