Rally at Parliament To Ban Live Animal Exports

Greens MLC Lynn MacLaren, Greens WA spokesperson on Animals, has tabled a petition of 4000 signatures calling for an investigation into phasing out live animal exports.

A further 1000 signatures were tabled in the Lower House.

The petition notes the high mortality rates, poorly policed animal welfare laws, and the weakened meat trade costing thousands of jobs.

Cat legislation: Have your say

This is Jazz and Lucky, who are being cared for by the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Shenton Park Cat Haven.

There are thousands of cats like Jazz and Lucky who are left at the Cat Haven every year. Some are re-housed, but thousands are euthanised.

This sad situation could be improved dramatically thanks to a new Bill that has been released about domestic cats.

Get your moggies marching and your hounds hopping for the 14th Annual RSPCA Million Paws Walk, which is being held around Western Australia on Sunday 16 May. 

If you are based in Perth, the event commences at 10am at the corner of Coode Street and Mill Point Roads. The walk will begin with the short stroll of 2.5km or the Big Walk of 5km. Read more »
