Greens Want Centre for Fremantle Performing Arts

Greens MLC and spokesperson for the Arts and Culture Lynn MacLaren says the Greens will seek all party support to establish a Performing Arts Community Centre for Perth’s Port City.

Indigenous Cultural Centre by Waterfront Should be World-Class, Top-Priority

Lynn MacLaren MLC, Greens WA spokesperson on Arts and Culture, said today she welcomed the renewed focus on a national Indigenous Cultural Centre at the Waterfront development.

“A national Indigenous Cultural Centre should have been the State’s top priority for the waterfront development to offset the destruction of heritage values and loss of public open space,” Ms MacLaren said today at the ‘Get Your Arts Into Gear’ Election Forum run by the Chamber of Arts and Culture.

Funding for the Culture and the Arts in WA

The Chamber of Arts and Culture WA yesterday asked WA's major parties to declare their positions on key issues facing the arts and culture sector in the State.

With a recently updated policy (available here) Lynn MacLaren was ready to declare the Greens' support for boosting support for the arts and culture.
