Lessons Learned to Drop Power Bills

Greens (WA) Housing spokesperson Lynn MacLaren MLC, said that the lessons learned from the Perth Solar City program by Western Power can make great leaps to reduce household power bills.

“The Greens see a win-win for households and the environment in maximising energy efficiency and reducing energy waste. The less we use, the less we have to produce,” Ms MacLaren said.

Greens release plan for solar panels on every public housing home

The Greens have unveiled a $68 million plan to slash the power bills of some of the state’s poorest families and pensioners while cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 74,000 tonnes a year.

The plan would see 1.5kW solar systems installed on the roofs of every public and community housing dwelling across the state.

Green Vision for Growth along Scarborough Beach Road

Today The Greens outlined a green transformation for Scarborough Beach Road including an the extension of light rail to connect Scarborough Beach with transport hubs at Stirling and Glendalough.

In response to the draft Scarborough Beach Road Activity Corridor Framework, the Greens candidate for the North Metropolitan region, Cameron Poustie said “In terms of building a sustainable future, the Framework provides a positive vision for this strategically important corridor.” Read more »
