Why did the Conservation Commission withdraw their appeal?

The Conservation Commission had submitted an appeal against the EPA’s approval for the controversial Mangles Bay Marina, and subsequently withdrew it. This was revealed when I questioned the Environment Minister yesterday.

Cockatoos Need Protection in Battle with Main Roads

Greens MLC Lynn MacLaren today said that Perth can’t keep bulldozing Black Cockatoo habitat and expect the species to thrive.

“Main Roads’ work at the intersection of Reid Highway and Malaga Drive is just the latest blow against habitat protection,” she said. “The loss of mature trees is unfettered. Our approval processes aren’t working to protect endangered species habitat.”
