Labor & Coalition vote down vehicle fuel efficiency inquiry

Fuel efficient vehicles are in everybody’s interests, so why are Labor and the Coalition opposed to an inquiry asks Australian Greens Senator  Christine Milne?
Many new cars on Australian roads use more, not less fuel than their predecessors; this is madness in times of Peak Oil and rising fuel prices.  Increased fuel costs puts more pressure on the family budget, now is the time to have an enquiry into this important issue.
