Costly Bridge Only Adds to Car Woes

Welcoming the RAC’s recent push for congestion solutions, the Greens pointed to better spending priorities than a costly traffic bridge that would add to car woes.

Greens Label Taxi Fee Legalised Extortion

The Greens have slammed Transport Minister Troy Buswell's approval of a $9 "turn up on time" taxi fee as nothing more than legalised extortion.

Greens transport spokesperson, Lynn MacLaren said the fees were outrageous and showed just how out of touch the Minister was.

“The extra fee approved by the Minister is legalised extortion,” Ms MacLaren said.

Call for commitment to grain freight rail

On the release of the Auditor General's report concerning Management of the Rail Freight Network Lease, Lynn MacLaren called upon the Government to keep the Tier 3 lines running.

“Having served on the Parliamentary committee investigating the Tier 3 closure, and listened to farmers, I am convinced that any government would be wise to invest in Tier 3 rail and keep freight truck numbers down to improve road safety, reduce emissions and improve transport efficiency.” Greens Transport spokesperson and South Metro MLC Lynn MacLaren said today.

Green Vision for Growth along Scarborough Beach Road

Today The Greens outlined a green transformation for Scarborough Beach Road including an the extension of light rail to connect Scarborough Beach with transport hubs at Stirling and Glendalough.
