630. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Housing:
(1) What future plans does the Department of Housing to transfer properties to the community housing
(2) Apart from asset transfer, what is the policy and growth strategy for the Department of Housing in the
area of community housing?
(3) When will the affordable housing strategy document be published?
(4) When will the not-for-profit growth strategy document be published?
(5) The Social Housing Taskforce had an aspirational target of 20 000 houses by 2020. What percentage of
these new houses will be allocated to community housing?

Hon SIMON O’BRIEN replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question and provide the following answer on behalf of
the Leader of the House —
(1)–(5) A competitive process has commenced to transfer up to 559 properties to selected community housing
providers. The plan for the growth of the community housing sector is being finalised and will be
released for comment shortly. The state affordable housing strategy is being finalised and will then be
provided to cabinet for its consideration.
