Greens say no more chances for Magellan

Hon. Lynn MacLaren MLC, the Greens transport spokesperson believes that Magellan’s license to export lead should be revoked, after it was revealed earlier this week that lead had been conveyed on the wrong train line.

The Office of the Environmental Protection Authority is investigating the changed route after receiving a tip-off that lead carbonate had been transported via Kwinana rather than directly from Forrestfield to North Fremantle as outlined in Magellan's environmental management plan.

Lynn is arguing that the investigation should be completed urgently and the company should be held to account. She believes the company should also be fined the maximum potential penalty of $250,000 under section 47(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1986.
