Rail freight network - Filtering devices: Questions
RAIL FREIGHT NETWORK — FILTERING DEVICES
619. Hon Lynn MacLaren to the Parliamentary Secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) Are trains in the Western Australian freight network required to have filtering devices fitted to their exhausts?
(2) If yes to (1), for each device please advise:
(a) the name of the device;
(b) the emissions filtered; and
(c) the amount of emissions filtered?
(3) If no to (1), why not?
(4) If no to (1), what plans does the Government have to introduce emissions filtering devices to freight trains?
(5) What plans does the Government have to invest in hybrid electric locomotives?

(1)–(4) These questions should be directed to the Minister for Environment, who has responsibility for this issue.
