Social Inclusion/ Poverty

Lynn has an overarching commitment to achieving a socially just, democratic and sustainable society where everyone has the right to access adequate resources to allow them to fully participate in society. It is this vision which underpins her work particularly in her portfolio responsibilities of housing, seniors and sexuality.

Understanding that poverty and social disadvantage undermine social inclusion, Lynn is also a diligent advocate for Anti Poverty Week. The main aims of Anti-Poverty Week are to:

strengthen public understanding of the causes and consequences of poverty and hardship around the world and in Australia;
encourage research, discussion and action to address these problems, including action by individuals, communities, organisations and governments.
