Volunteering
"Let us remember the large numbers of citizens who, day in and day out, through acts of volunteerism large and small, bring hope to so many of the world's disadvantaged. Let us ensure that this wonderful resource, available in abundance to every nation, is recognized and supported as it works towards a more prosperous and peaceful world." - Kofi Annan, former Secretary-General of the United Nations
Volunteers play an invaluable role in our community. Last year 587,000 people across Western Australia volunteered their time. These people are the building blocks of our communities. It is vital then, that Government fosters an environment that recognises the contribution that volunteers make as well as providing adequate funding to agencies such as Volunteering WA to support volunteers in their work.
